Training, Planning and Independent Facilitation
Organizational and Agency Supports and Building Teams for Agency Change: This process teaches how to incorporate person-centered/interest-based philosophies and strengths-based management into service support and plan writing. Includes training on how to set and write person centered outcomes, transition from deficit-based language to capacities-based language, identify leadership that will initiate change, and shift systems in response to new Federal/State changes with regard to person centered planning. Motivational stories are used to inspire hope and foster an interest in system changes.
Family and Person-Centered Supports: Meeting facilitation designed for people who are learning to direct their own life and for those they select as their planning team. Incorporates a variety of modalities designed to create a person-centered One-Page Description and/or an interest-based plan, and encourages collaborative planning to achieve a person’s hopes and dreams. Emphasis is placed on discovering strengths, post high school career exploration, building trust, connecting to community and identifying supports that empower positive self-direction. Our process draws from a variety of resources, and is grounded in evidence-based research and from trainers’ 47 years of experience.
Person-Centered Thinking Skills Training: This PCT skills training, certified by The Learning Community, is offered in 3-day and 6-day schedules. Topics include: Introduction to PCT Skills (Everyday Learning, Discovery, Management) and interactive coaching to develop person-centered One-Page Descriptions. Participants learn to facilitate conversations based on mutual trust by putting people at the center of their own planning process. Whether participants are just starting in their field, have an entire career in a helping profession, or desire positive control over their own lives, this training results in people inspired to create choice, change and optimism for all humans.
Building Bridges from Being to Belonging: This training focuses on the importance of building a rich community life, belonging and provides skills that can be utilized by Direct Support Staff to facilitate those connections.
From Discovery Skills to Person Centered Outcomes: This training was developed to support people who write person-centered plans to develop outcomes that support community connection. Participants will learn to write outcomes and action plans that support positive change.
